Simon Garrett

Simon Garrett is Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon. He specialises in hip and knee surgery. His practice includes hip and knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, hip and knee arthroscopy and Trauma. He uses the latest proven technology and implants.

He has developed a hip arthroscopy service treating a wide variety of conditions including labral tears and hip impingement.

Experience
Having graduated from Southampton Medical School in 1998, Mr Simon Garrett completed both his basic and higher Orthopaedic Surgical Training across the Wessex region. After Specialist Registrar training, he undertook two specialist Hip & Knee Arthroplasty fellowships in Perth, Western Australia in 2008/9. This was under the supervision of Prof David wood and Prof Piers Yates. Upon return to the UK in 2009, he gained entry the specialist register in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.

Mr Garrett was appointed as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant in 2010, specialising in Hip and Knee Surgery, at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Dorchester. He has admitting rights at the Winterbourne Hospital, Dorchester.

Research
Mr Simon Garrett has had a number of articles published in peer reviewed journals and has presented his work both nationally and internationally.

He is still actively involved in research projects and currently looking into ways of improving patient satisfaction, pain and recovery following hip and knee surgery.
