Iain Findlay

Iain Findlay is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon. His specialist interests are knee and hip surgery. His practice includes knee and hip replacements, revision knee replacements, arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, ligament reconstruction, patient specific knee replacements and lower limb trauma.

Iain qualified in 2002 at Edinburgh University. Basic Surgical Training was completed at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital in London, followed by Specialist Orthopaedic Training on the South East Thames Rotation. He obtained the FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2012. Following this he was awarded two specialist fellowships. He was the Knee and Trauma Fellow at King’s College Hospital, London and then the Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellow at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Iain was appointed as a Consultant at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester in 2015.

Throughout his career Iain has developed his interest in knee and hip surgery with several international publications and presentations. In particular, he has published work on knee replacement techniques, hip replacement outcomes and complex lower limb trauma. He is a reviewer for The Knee journal. He uses the latest proven technology, surgical techniques and implants. He ensures this best practice with attendance at national conferences and courses, leading clinical governance at Dorset County Hospital and working with the South West Knee Surgeons Group.

Iain has admitting rights to the Winterbourne Hospital, Dorchester.
